2024-2026
Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, France
Led by the Municipality of Le Monêtier-les-Bains, the renovation of the La Rotonde SPA represents a landmark operation for the Serre Chevalier valley. The project involved the complete transformation of a 1,000 sqm premium wellness area within the Grands Bains du Monêtier, with the ambition of strengthening the site’s attractiveness and diversifying the mountain tourism offering.
Launched in autumn 2024, the design phase led to a construction period running from October 2024 to January 2026 (18 months), with public opening on February 7, 2026. The works were carried out in an occupied site, maintaining access to the existing pools during both the winter and summer seasons, within a demanding mountain environment and with more than twenty companies involved.
La Rotonde stands out for its circular architecture, high-quality materials and generous natural light opening onto the Alpine peaks. The new facilities include a panoramic sauna, hammam, a natural 44°C waterfall fed by the Monêtier hot spring, an immersive sensory pool with panoramic screen, a sparkling water pool, outdoor jacuzzis, a snowroom and a salt room.
Appointed to deliver the Scheduling, Coordination and Supervision (OPC) mission, setec opency ensured overall planning and operational management of the project within a context of continuous operation.
The intervention relied on a carefully structured phasing strategy, compatible with maintaining site activity and managing seasonal peak attendance. Daily coordination of more than twenty contractors and rigorous interface management secured progress across all trades while controlling visitor flows. Constant anticipation of critical points, combined with continuous adaptation to operational constraints and the mountain environment, contributed to schedule optimisation and the maintenance of high organisational standards.
The on-time opening to the public demonstrates setec opency’s ability to manage complex projects in occupied sites, serving both operational performance and regional attractiveness.
