The new Lyon-Turin Euralpine Tunnel (TELT) line, due to enter service in 2030, aims to make rail freight transport in the region more competitive. The project includes the creation of one of the world’s longest rail tunnels (57km between Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne and Avressieux).
The Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne site is the interconnection point between the French and cross-border parts of the Lyon-Turin rail line project. It is the link between the existing network and the new infrastructure of the cross-border section.
