At setec opency, we call it the “quadrilatère Richelieu”, because our engineers and prorata account managers have been working on this historic site on rue de Richelieu, in the heart of Paris, for over 10 years. Tuesday September 13 marked the end of this formidable adventure, with the presence of the 1st Minister Elisabeth Borne, who came in person to inaugurate the renovated site.
Scheduled in two phases in order to maintain activity on site, the #restructuring work focused on securing buildings and equipment, improving conservation conditions for collections, creating a new entrance, and renovating and extending the services offered to the public, notably with the opening of the famous Salle Ovale.
The works also enabled the installation of the new library of the Institut national d’histoire de l’art and the École nationale des chartes, as well as the creation of the Musée de la BNF, which presents almost 900 exceptional pieces such as Dagobert’s throne, Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables, prints by Picasso and Rembrandt, and Charlemagne’s chessboard.
A formidable challenge for setec opency, whose SCMC missions ensured the organization and coordination of the works in an occupied site listed as a historic monument.
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days on Saturday September 17 and Sunday September 18, 2022, BnF is celebrating the reopening of the site with a festive program of events.
