Villejuif – Gustave Roussy: An Exceptional Station for a New Era of Mobility

After seven years of construction, the Villejuif – Gustave Roussy station is finally opening its doors! This jewel of the Grand Paris Express represents a major step forward for mobility in the Île-de-France region. With its futuristic architecture and cutting-edge infrastructure, this station is redefining the transportation network and offering new possibilities for users.

A Hub of Life and Activity

More than just a transit point, the station has been designed as a true hub of life. With 16 shops, a covered passage connecting to the Gustave Roussy Institute—Europe’s leading cancer treatment center—and a direct connection to Orly Airport in under 10 minutes, every aspect has been carefully planned to improve the daily lives of users and the 4,000 employees of the hospital.

Located at the heart of the Hautes-Bruyères departmental park and the future Campus Grand Parc eco-district, the station is contributing to the region’s development with the creation of 3,300 housing units, fostering a modern and sustainable living environment.

setec opency: A Key Player in the Project

The scale of this project required the excavation of 300,000 cubic meters of soil, the installation of 32 escalators, and 16 elevators. Throughout this endeavor, setec opency played a key role, contributing to the project’s success through three essential missions:

  • Scheduling Construction Management Coordination (SCMC) for the deployment of transport systems on Line 14 South, on behalf of RATP.
  • General project management coordination for Line 15 South, in partnership with Egis and Ingérop, on behalf of the Société des Grands Projets.
  • Support to the prime contractor (setec tpi) for schedule management and site organization of the station. This involved developing a robust schedule that accounted for the project’s specific challenges. Additionally, we drafted the Site Organization Notice (NOC), detailing all the resources, methods, and measures necessary to ensure seamless coordination and guarantee safety. Lastly, the Site Installation Plan (PIC) was established to efficiently organize spaces, resources, and flows from the very beginning of the works.

Through this project, setec opency further strengthens its expertise in Scheduling, Steering, and Coordination of complex projects.
