The site accommodation for the Centre Pompidou construction site is currently being set up: a key step in preparing to welcome the teams and launch this major project. On this project, setec opency is acting on behalf of OPPIC (the Delegated Project Owner) in a dual capacity as project manager and manager of the shared expenditure account, supporting a transformation programme that will modernise the historic Beaubourg building from a technical, environmental and cultural aspects, with a view to its reopening in 2030.

This week, preparations for the construction site are becoming visible on site with the gradual installation of the site accommodation. These temporary facilities will house, in particular, staff accommodation as well as offices for the site management and contractors.
To date, this first phase comprises 66 modules intended for site offices, meeting rooms, canteens, changing rooms, toilet facilities and reception areas. These facilities form an initial operational foundation, which will evolve as contractors arrive and the various phases of the project progress.
Essential to the day-to-day operations of the teams, this facility is one of the first tangible signs that the project has entered its operational phase. Its installation requires significant effort in terms of organisation, coordination and the management of shared resources.
Beyond the installation of the modular buildings, this initial stage involves the construction of steel structures and foundations, technical connections, electrical installations, indoor and outdoor lighting, as well as the safety measures required for a phased commissioning. These works will be adapted and supplemented as operational requirements evolve.
The initial external works also include 250 linear metres of site fencing, bespoke security gates, temporary access signage and a temporary cycle storage area. The organisation of the site boundaries and security measures will continue to evolve as the works progress.
The hire, upkeep and maintenance of the site accommodation, as well as the preliminary works and equipment required for its commissioning, are covered by the joint expenditure account set up and managed by setec opency.
This organisation is also supported by a dedicated logistics team, currently comprising a site logistics officer and a traffic controller. Working in conjunction with the Project Management Organisation (OPC) and the contractors, this team helps to organise deliveries, access, traffic flows and movement around the site. The associated human and material resources are intended to scale up as the project progresses.

For the Centre Pompidou project, setec opency is responsible for the OPC (scheduling, management and coordination of the construction site) as well as the management of the shared expenditure account. These are two complementary roles aimed at organising the work phases, coordinating the various parties involved and ensuring the necessary conditions are in place for the smooth running of the construction site.
With regard to shared expenditure, setec opency is responsible, in particular, for administrative and accounting management, monitoring services, drawing up and managing the provisional budget, verifying invoices and allocating costs amongst the participating contractors, in accordance with the rules defined for the project.
This remit also covers the adaptive management of the shared services required for the site: temporary facilities, logistics, securing the site boundaries, access control, maintenance of communal areas and coordination of specialist partners. The scope of these services is regularly adjusted to support the various phases of the project.
This integration of operational management and the management of shared resources enables practical support for the phased ramp-up of the construction site, from the installation of temporary facilities through to the coordination of all works.
Drawing on this expertise, setec opency supports its clients in the design, deployment and ongoing adaptation of site infrastructure. Together with its partners, setec opency implements scalable solutions, tailored to the actual needs of each phase and designed to ensure the smooth ramp-up of the project.

Following the gradual closure of the various levels of the historic Beaubourg building, the extensive renovation project, with OPPIC acting as delegated project manager, began in 2026. The project was entrusted to AIA Life Designers for the technical aspects and to Moreau Kusunoki for the cultural aspects, in collaboration with Frida Escobedo Studio. The Centre Pompidou is scheduled to reopen in 2030.
The transformation combines major technical and environmental challenges (complete asbestos removal from the façade, treatment of corrosion in the main structure, renovation and energy optimisation, and improvements to accessibility) with a renewed cultural ambition. It aims to better accommodate visitors, rethink the presentation of the collections and the layout of the Public Information Library, whilst giving greater prominence to creativity and reaffirming the Centre’s multidisciplinary mission. By 2030, the Centre intends to once again become a more open, more engaged and better integrated part of the city.
