The redevelopment project for the entrance to the city of Saint-Étienne involves the creation of a new retail hub, known as the Steel Shopping Resort. This ambitious scheme breaks new ground in terms of architecture, landscaping and environmental design, as well as street furniture. It is a powerful symbol of the region’s identity. Steel stands out with its bold and resolutely contemporary architecture, inspired by the history of Saint-Étienne and its dynamic spirit. Its iconic roof, featuring an overhanging canopy designed by Jordan Briand, echoes the contours of the city’s urban landscape and its seven hills. This open-air shopping centre project covers nearly 16 hectares and comprises over 70,000 m² of Gross Lettable Area (GLA), 1,800 parking spaces and 37,000 m² of landscaped green spaces.
For this project, setec opency carried out the following tasks: Project Management (OPC) for design and construction, and management of shared site expenditure.
Project cost : €100 million
